Sacraments

Baptism

Baptisms are usually celebrated during one of the regularly scheduled Masses. Parents are encouraged to call the Parish Office at 270-683-6525 before the birth of their child to make an appointment for instructions.

Matrimony

Couples wishing to share their lives with one another in Christian marriage are asked to contact the Parish Office at 270-683-6525, or email Fr. Jerry Riney for an appointment. We suggest that the first appointment be scheduled nine (9) months before the proposed date of marriage.

The Sacrament of Reconciliation is celebrated communally two times a year, during Advent and Lent. Other opportunities for Reconciliation are:

Saturdays from 9:30 am – 11:30 am; Thursday evenings before First Fridays from 4:00 pm – 5:00 pm, or by appointment (call the Parish Office at 270-683-6525).

Anointing of the Sick

Parishioners may request Anointing of the Sick by calling the Parish Office at 270-683-6525 or by sending an email to Fr. Jerry Riney. The sacrament is celebrated communally two times a year. (Please call or email Parish Administrative Assistant M. Beni Howell when any member of the family is admitted to a hospital or nursing home.)

Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA)

Adults interested in becoming Catholic participate in the Rite of Christian Initiation (RCIA). The Rite of Christian Initiation is a process of initiation into the Catholic Community of Faith. This is for persons who are seeking baptism in the Catholic Church or full communion with the Catholic tradition through the Profession of Faith, reception of Eucharist, and Confirmation. Weekly formation gatherings meet on Wednesdays at 6:00 pm in the Media Center (in the Parish Office). If you are interested, please call 270-852-8424 or email Donna Murphy.  View the video below for more information about becoming Catholic.
