Pastor’s Corner

I. Welcome to Father Bede Cisco, OSB, who will be here for a “Saint Meinrad Sunday” this weekend. Saint Meinrad Benedictine Archabbey and School of Theology is less than a 60 minute drive from Owensboro! We are so blessed to have this tremendous resource available to our Diocese. There will be no second collection; however, you will receive a letter from Saint Meinrad where most of our priests are educated and formed. Be as generous as you can be!

II. Parish/Koinonia Retreat: Will be will begin at 5:30 on Friday, March 24th and conclude on Sunday evening, March 25th. You would not regret giving these 48 hours to the Lord! What have you done to deepen in your faith lately? Registration forms are at the doors of church, in the office, or you can print from our website.

III. Council is about Serving: I am/we are now accepting nominations from the community of St. Stephen Cathedral to serve on our Parish Pastoral Council for a three-year term. If you know of someone who has a “servant’s heart” and the good of the community in mind, nomination forms can be found at the doors of church or in our parish office. The more diverse our council, the better! Please pray for yourself or for someone else to be part of the team.

IV. Easter Flowers in Memory of or in Honor of: in your tithing packet, you will find an envelope “Easter Flowers”. This is a great way to remember loved ones who have died, or two on their loved ones who are living! These flowers will “grace” our church as we celebrate the Easter season! You may also donate online through our WeShare option; visit our website and click on “Give Online”.

V. Cathedral Fish Fry: don’t let anything get in the way of celebrating the Feast of Patrick at our Cathedral fish fry on Friday, March 17th, the feast of Saint Patrick! Serving begins at 5:00 p.m. and will continue until 7:30 p.m. Stations of the Cross will be held at 6:00 p.m. Eat before or after stations!

VI. Online giving is now available for our parishioners; donating is simple, safe and secure, and green (reduces paper use)! Many thanks to our parishioners who have already signed up.
