I. Owensboro Symphony Orchestra will grace us with their presence at St. Stephen Cathedral on Sunday, April 19, at 4:00pm. Along with every SSC parishioner, our Diocesan Event Welcomers will extend hospitality to our guests. Invite your friends and neighbors! Everyone is welcome!

II. New Families to St. Stephen Cathedral: There will be a reception in St. Stephen Cathedral rectory on Thursday, April 23, at 6:30pm, with hors d’oeuvres, for all new families who have registered since June 18, 2013. We are glad you are here! Welcome! Please RSVP to Teresa Brown at 270-925-3039, or the parish office at 270-683-6525.

III. Spring Work Day was a huge success last Saturday, April 11. Thanks to all those who gave back to the Church in a very hands-on, concrete way. A special thanks to Ron Bornander, Parish Pastoral Council liaison to Buildings and Grounds, for organizing and making this event happen.  (Watch for next week’s Litany of Thanks for all the names.)

IV. Watering our Church Flowers: Thanks to Dora Thompson and Mary Horn for their timely watering of our flowers in church. In deference to the health of our flowers, I ask that this important and essential task be left to Dora and Mary alone! Our Art and Environment Committee did a superb job in transforming our worship environment from the Lenten to the Easter season. Thanks especially to Kathy Rasp, Patrick Clary, Mary Ann O’Bryan, and Mary Horn, under the direction of Mike Conley, Director Liturgy and Music.

V. Good News About Fr. Suneesh! The new assignments for pastors and assistants (“parochial vicars”  in Canon Law language!) have been announced, and will take affect the second Tuesday of June.  Fr. Suneesh Mathew Kulathanapadikel will be staying at St. Stephen Cathedral, thanks be to God! And to Bishop Medley!  Alleluia! Alleluia!

In Joy and Hope,

Fr. Jerry
