I. The Cathedral Preschool, Christ, Creativity, Curriculum: is presently accepting applications for three, four, and five-year-olds for next school year. We offer a research-based academic curriculum, as well as a Minds-In-Motion program to support physical and academic development. It is an age-appropriate, loving, and caring environment, aiding in developing listening skills, socialization and learning to be with peers, independence, and learning to follow routines. And, they will have a great time! Call 270-926-1652 or visit www.cathedralpreschool.com.
II. Welcome, Eddie O’Bryan! The Buildings and Grounds Search Committee recommended that I hire Eddie O’Brien part-time. I did. Eddie will care for the church building, upstairs and down. We did not hire someone for the entire campus. Eddie, who is meticulous and thorough, will be responsible only for our church and the Fr. Vaughan Community Center downstairs; in other words, he will take care of that one building.
We have put into place a Work Order system; therefore, if you notice something that needs attention, please fill out a Work Order in the office. Many of the Work Forms will be handled by volunteers in the parish. Obviously, emergencies (things that can’t wait) will be handled differently! Thank you for supporting Eddie in his new role as caretaker of this important building on our campus!
III. Happy Fifth Anniversary, Bishop Medley! Has it really been five years since our Diocese gathered at the Sportscenter for the Episcopal ordination of Fr. William Francis Medley as the fourth Bishop of the Diocese of Owensboro? You are invited to the noon Mass on Tuesday, February 10, to honor and pray for our shepherd.
IV. The Sacrament of Anointing will be celebrated on the National Day of Prayer for the Sick, Tuesday, February 11, the Feast of Our Lady of Lourdes at the noon Mass. Be aware of people who may need transportation. This communal anointing will be followed by a light lunch, coordinated by Lisa Taylor.
V. Candidates for First Communion will be celebrating God’s forgiveness in the Sacrament of Reconciliation on Sunday, February 8 at 2:00PM. Parents will present their child to the Church for this amazing Sacrament. Have you drawn the name of a candidate, and are you praying for that candidate?
In Joy and Hope,
