Pastor’s Perspective

Published on November 2nd, 2012

Dear Parishioners,

They are here!  The seven-member team from Madrid arrived last Monday and began working to install the liturgical artifacts on Tuesday.  It is exciting to see everything coming together after almost a year of preparation.  We are very grateful to Ben Hartz and to the employees of Hartz Construction, as well as to all the subcontractors, who have gotten us to this point.  Let us continue to pray that things will go smoothly and that there will be no complications, so we will be ready for our celebration on the 18th.

Several weeks ago, I told you that our parish custodian, Joe Beard, will retire soon.  I hate to see Joe leave our staff, but am happy to tell you that when he departs Eddie O’Bryan will join us.  I welcome Eddie and look forward to working with him.

Last Monday, I attended the annual Excellence Rally at Catholic High.  One of the awards given at the rally is for active involvement and participation in parish life – given to one student from each parish.  I was happy to present this year’s award to Adam Hayden.  Through the years, Adam has been a faithful and conscientious altar server and member of the youth group.  He has always been willing to share his talents with his school and parish community and is very deserving of this recognition.  Congratulations, Adam!

Love, Fr. John
