Pastor’s Corner

I. Glenmary Sisters Celebrating 75 Years: a holy “salute” to our Glenmary Sisters based in Owensboro as they celebrate 75 years of service to the people of God. This big event is Saturday, October 15th, with Mass at Saint Stephen Cathedral at 2:00pm, and a buffet dinner with live music at the Cliff Hagan Boys & Girls Club at 5:30pm.  Tickets are available for $45 and may be purchased by phone, 270-686-8401, or by mail—checks may be mailed to Glenmary Sisters 75th Tickets, PO Box 22264, Owensboro, KY 42304. Everyone is welcome!

II. Ministry of Hospitality: many thanks to those who were able to make the Hospitality Ministers Formation Gathering last week.  If you weren’t able to attend, there will be another formation gathering on Wednesday, October 19th at 6:00pm, in the Community Center. Mark your calendars.

III. Tri-Parish Mission: Blessed Mother Parish, Sts. Joseph & Paul Parish, along with the Cathedral, will be hosting a mission given by Father John Mark Ettensohn, OMI. Mark these three days on your calendar—Monday, October 24th through Wednesday, October 26th. The mission is about listening and reflecting on how we can be better disciples of Jesus Christ into 2016 and beyond. Pray for the success of this mission!

IV. Priest Retreat: “We are already one in Christ,” is Thomas Martin’s message of hope for his brother priests. I will join priests from the Evansville Diocese and others to participate in a retreat, directed by Jonathan Montaldo, at Mount St. Joseph Conference and Retreat Center, October 10-14th.  I ask for and rely upon your prayers during these four days of “retreating.”
