St. Stephen Cathedral Mass
Blessed Sacrament Chapel Mass

I. Eat Pancakes for Habitat: Our youth are sponsoring a Pancake Breakfast after all the Sunday Masses on December 14. As a parish, we want to involve ourselves more in the worthy cause of Habitat for Humanity, helping to provide housing for a family who otherwise could never dream of owning a house. Come downstairs, eat pancakes with someone with whom you would never have breakfast! No cost! A basket will be available for donations.
II. Blessing of Expected Families: A woman announcing to her husband and parents that she is pregnant elicits a joyful response! Gabriel announces to young Mary that she would conceive the Son of God by the power of the Holy Spirit. Mary responded with obedience and trust, “My soul rejoices in God my Savior!” On December 21, the fourth Sunday of Advent, we will offer a special blessing for expectant parents at all four of our weekend Masses.
III. Church Calendars and Haley-McGinnis: All of us have seven days a week or 168 hours a week, 24 hours a day. How you use time says a lot about what you value. Time is a gift! At the doors of church, pick up a Catholic calendar, courtesy of Haley-McGinnis Funeral Home. We are grateful!
IV. What Makes A Vibrant Parish? 1) All who enter experience welcome and hospitality. 2) Liturgy inspires active participation and offers an experience of God. 3) Parishioners recognize their parish mission. 4) Collegial leadership is practiced. 5) Members are recognized as gifted and called for us to use their gifts. 6) Faith is nurtured. 7) Outreach to the body of Christ is practiced. 8) There is a plan for a sustainable and responsible future. 9) Communal life abounds. 10) Baptism’s vocational call is cultivated. WE NEED YOU! THANK YOU for RETURNING YOUR Time, Talent, Treasure COMMITMENT.
V. Christmas Mass Schedule: After evaluating the attendance at our Christmas Masses last year, our Mass schedule for Christmas this year is as follows: December 24, Christmas Eve, Masses will be 4:00PM and 11:00PM; December 25, Christmas Day, Masses will be 8:00AM and 10:00AM. Mass at Blessed Sacrament Chapel will be on Christmas Eve at 7:00PM. Invite a neighbor, a co-worker, a friend, a family member to celebrate with you!
In Joy and Hope,
