St. Stephen Cathedral Mass
Blessed Sacrament Chapel Mass
Published on October 24th, 2014
I. Are you outgoing? Do you enjoy meeting new people? Are you excited about your parish, St. Stephen Cathedral? The newly named Marketing Committee (formerly Marketing/Hospitality Committee), led by Sr. Suzanne Sims, needs you! Throughout the year, the Diocese of Owensboro holds events at the Cathedral and the Marketing Committee would like willing parishioners to serve as hosts and hostesses for these events. A simple hand shake, a big smile and warm hospitality is needed. Think you fit the bill? Please contact me.
II. All Saints’ Day is Saturday, November 1. Every baptized person is called to be a saint! If you are baptized, you are called to holiness of life! Today, we celebrate not the canonized saints, but our grandparents, aunts and uncles, siblings, cousins, and neighbors who took the call to holiness seriously and lived it out in their lives. My favorite definition of a saint is: “A sinner who keeps on trying.” On Saturday, November 1, our holy day Mass schedule at St. Stephen Cathedral is: 7:00am and12:05pm (noon). On the eve of the holy day, Friday, October 31, there will be a Mass at Blessed Sacrament (7th and Sycamore Streets) at 6:00pm.
III. Communal Anointing of the Sick: Mark your calendars for Thursday, November 20, (exactly one week before Thanksgiving) at noon Mass. A light lunch will be served after the Mass. If you’d like to “lend a hand” with the luncheon, please contact Lisa Taylor, 270-302-6917.
In Joy and Hope,
