St. Stephen Cathedral Mass
Blessed Sacrament Chapel Mass
Published on February 21st, 2014
I. Lector Workshop/Formation will be on Monday, February 24, at 6:00PM. This ministry is for all lectors, former lectors and new lectors, who are called to proclaim the sacred Word of God, to read meaning instead of just words, to help the Scriptures to come alive. It’s a privilege to be called to this ministry!
II. Eucharistic Ministers or Extraordinary Ministers of the Eucharist Workshop/Formation will be on Tuesday, February 25, at 6:00PM. This ministry is for those who have been Eucharistic ministers, as well as those who have newly signed up on the stewardship forms. What a privilege “to give the Body of Christ to the Body of Christ (St. Augustine)”! Everyone of our Masses (5:00PM, 7:00AM, 9:00AM, and 11:00AM) is in need of more people who will exercise this ministry with care, reverence and devotion.
III. The Ministry of Usher and Hospitality will meet on Friday, February 28, at 6:00PM. This ministry is about more than simply passing the collection baskets; it’s about helping us as a parish to create a spirit of welcome and hospitality to every person who walks through every door in our church. We desperately need many more men, women, and teens, children and families to “step up to the plate” to take this ministry seriously.
IV. Sacristan Workshop/Formation will meet on Saturday, March 1, at 8:30AM, for all those who work “behind the scenes” preparing for Liturgy. Those who signed up for the Ministry of Sacristan, our “Linen Sisters” (those who launder our purificators, corporals, altar cloths), sacristans, those who clean candles, and anyone who would like to help, are invited for breakfast at 8:30AM in the rectory. We hope to be finished with the formation at 11:00AM. Thank you for making the effort to attend and for giving of your time and talent!
V. ALTAR SERVER TRAINING will be Sunday, March 16, following the 11:00AM Mass.
VI. ARISE To Strengthen Your Faith: At our daily Masses, we are presently reading and reflecting upon the Letter of James. This letter is to all believers, and it challenges us to deepen our gift of faith by putting it into action. James lays it on the line, holds no punches back! One wonderful opportunity you have is to join an ARISE group for the season of Lent. Do it because you like it, or do it as a penance that’s for this Lenten season. Sign up will be done on the lists in the back of the Church or by contacting Deacon Dirck. The six-week small group sharing sessions will start the week of Ash Wednesday, which is March 5. This season is named “New Heart, New Spirit.”
In Joy and Hope,
