St. Stephen Cathedral Mass
Blessed Sacrament Chapel Mass

I. Last Sunday Follow-Up: Every registered family/household should have received in the mail this week a brochure listing TIME and TALENT opportunities for serving, for living out your faith. I ask everyone in the parish to take time to pray about where God is calling you to serve at this time in your faith-life. Furthermore, each family/household is also asked to make a TREASURE commitment for the coming year. Remembering the Parable of the Widow’s Mite (Mk. 12:41-44), every one can pledge something, depending on your present circumstance. You are asked to bring your “faith response” to Mass on the Feast of Christ the King, November 23-24. It will be your offering back to God for blessings you have received! “Life is like an echo; what we send out will come back to us.”
II. Server Training on Sunday, November 17, after the 11:00am Mass, about 12:15pm. This is for new and current servers. We really need servers for the 5:00pm, 7:00am, and 11:00am Masses. In order to take up this privilege of serving at the altar, we ask that you be in third grade (second semester) or higher, and we welcome adults.
III. Memorial Prayer Service: Since All Souls Day fell on Saturday this year, we are celebrating a special Prayer Service on Thursday, November 21, at 6:30pm to remember our loved ones who have died. There will be a reception following in the Community Center.
IV. Faith Fest Owensboro 2013: We were asked to have an Open House for our church building Sunday, November 17, 1:30-4:00pm. Thanks to Kathy Wright, a member of the Hospitality/Marketing Committee, for gathering parishioners to be tour guides on behalf of our parish.
The Interfaith Thanksgiving Service is on Sunday, November 24, at 2:00pm at Unitarian Universalist Congregation, corner of Cedar and Parish. This 6th annual Thanksgiving Service is also part of Faith Fest Owensboro 2013.
V. An Extra Bed? I am looking for a single bed for the “Seminarian Room” in the rectory. It’s a very small room and can only handle a single bed.
In Joy and Hope, Fr. Jerry
