St. Stephen Cathedral Mass
Blessed Sacrament Chapel Mass

I. A GOD WHO CARES! Congratulations to those who have presented themselves to the Church this weekend for healing through the Sacrament of Anointing, a spiritual “window of opportunity” to experience God’s love as one struggles with a illness or serious limitations of aging. The focus of this Sacrament has always been spiritual healing. May God give them healing and the grace to accept and embrace their cross, which can draw them closer to the Lord.
II. The FIRST YEARS of a CHILD’S LIFE are the most impressionable. This past week, I had the privilege of greeting parents of three-year-olds, four-year-olds, and five-year-olds who have chosen to send their child to our St. Stephen Cathedral preschool. Our experienced and dedicated staff is headed by Pam Weafer, director for the past five years. Though there are many daycare facilities in the city, we are the only licensed Catholic Pre-School in Owensboro. This year, we are beginning with 98 young children whom parents have entrusted to our care for learning and formation. Every child is a gift from God
III. GROWING the SEEDS of FAITH: The seminary is a place where a young man discerns God’s call. It takes courage, humility, and openness to enter the seminary. I have promised Sam Rasp that his St. Stephen Cathedral family will be praying for him as he returns, for his second year, to Bishop Simon Brutë College Seminary on the campus of Marian University in Indianapolis. Let Sam know you are praying for him: Sam Rasp, Bishop Simon Bruté College Seminary, 2500 Cold Springs Road, Indianapolis, IN, 46222.
