St. Stephen Cathedral Mass
Blessed Sacrament Chapel Mass
Published on August 24th, 2012
Occasionally I become aware of a parishioner who is no longer able to come to Mass and has not been to Holy Communion or received other sacraments for a long time. If you or a member of your family is in this situation, please let me know. Fr Brandon and I, as well as others, visit our homebound parishioners weekly. We don’t want any of our folks to be neglected or deprived of the sacraments. Also, please let us know if you or a family member is in the hospital or a rest home.
Many thanks to Bennie Blandford who worked for several days last week cleaning up the yard around the prayer garden and youth house. This is a wonderful example of a good steward. Thanks to all of you who generously share your gifts with our parish family.
Have you remembered to pray for your prayer partner/s? You received their names at the first of the year, and I hope that you have been faithful to this commitment. Maybe you could drop them a note on occasion or find other opportunities to let them know that you are praying for them.
On Sunday afternoon, I will go to Paducah to baptize two great nieces, Lilly Beth and Zoe Annette. It seems only last year that I baptized these babies’ fathers! It was just last summer that I witnessed their weddings. I have not seen my mother for a couple of weeks, so I will have the chance to check on her progress while I am in Paducah.
Love, Fr. John
