St. Stephen Cathedral Mass
Blessed Sacrament Chapel Mass
Published on April 22nd, 2011
The Lord is Risen, Alleluia, Alleluia! In the name of all the parish staff, I wish each of you a very blessed Easter. I hope that the season of Lent was a time of renewal and blessing and that Easter will be a time of grace and joy. Many thanks to all of you who participated in our beautiful Triduum liturgies over the past three days. I am grateful to our faithful altar servers, to all other liturgical ministers, and especially to our dedicated choir. Thanks, also, to those who gave of their time to decorate the Church for Lent and Easter.
We are always honored to have many visitors with us on Easter morning, and it is such a blessing for us to do so. Know that you are always welcome here at the Cathedral, the mother Church of the Diocese of Owensboro.
Bishop Medley baptized and confirmed three new members of our faith community last night and confirmed a fourth individual, as well. We are happy to welcome Lee Martin, Joseph Walker, MacKensie Drury and William Jackson, Sr. into our parish family.
The next step of our Cathedral Restoration and Renewal will begin next month. We have contracted with Integrated Technologies Group of Newburgh, IN, who will install a new sound system in the Cathedral before summer. After working with several acoustical consultants over the past year, we have decided that this company has the ability to meet our needs and to improve the quality of sound within the Church. It is my expectation that the other work will commence soon after this system is in place.
Love, Fr. John
